Dear Visitor,

The fact that the Muslim-midwifery web site kept attracting people for many years now and this in spite of its poor content has pleased me much. It shows that there is an interest in the subject. For various reasons I strongly feel that Muslims should preserve natural birth options and develop these within the foil of the Umma (Muslim community).

For this reason I have preserved the domain name. For now this is my only engagement towards midwifery left.

For those seeking further information I strongly suggest to get in contact with the above mentioned Muslim Midwifery Forum. That forum seems the best materialization of our search for Muslim Midwifery on the Internet.

Being the Proponent of the Usenet Group Sci.med.midwifery I can only hope that one day a team of capable people will

step forward to revive that channel of communication that is now being run by automated software (thank you Brian Edmonds).

From the old site(s) we like to remember a few documents and graphics made available for download. Some are in Dutch.

The Birth Chair Construction Plans are international. A couple of texts, some not related to midwifery but that ended up on the previous sites (idic.net, Muslima, ...) and which we think should be kept available have been preserved. More of those can be found on http://www.ezania.net/library
